The catalogue is intentionally short. Nothing is listed until we have handled it, and nothing stays listed once it stops being something we would buy ourselves.
Each piece has to pass the same three questions: is it made well enough to last, can we describe it accurately, and would we keep it. Where a material matters we name it plainly, because 'soft' and 'generous' are not information you can act on.
We include what is inconvenient as well as what is flattering: which size runs small, which colour reads differently on screen, which material needs careful handling. Stock is bought in small runs and checked before it is listed: materials noted from the label and from handling, and a note made of anything a buyer would want to know but a supplier would leave out. Where a supplier cannot tell us the composition, the item does not go up until we have checked it ourselves. That is slower, and it is the reason the catalogue stays short.
There are no limited-time banners here, no crossed-out prices that were never charged, and no staged photographs of a product we have not received. Nothing on the site is a stock image licensed from a catalogue, which is why the photography is plain and consistent.

Confirmation and dispatch emails come from this site's own address and include the order number. We will never email asking for card details, a password or a payment by bank transfer, and we will never ask you to install anything.
We buy small runs from makers we have dealt with before, and we do not fill gaps with whatever a distributor happens to hold. When a run finishes it usually does not return, which is why a listing disappears instead of becoming a backorder.
The catalogue turns over because the shelf does. Nothing is kept listed to look busier than we are, and the number of items quoted on the homepage is checked against what is actually for sale when it is written.
